This scene came to my mind while listening to the Blue Stone's Worlds Apart album. Entire hard surface modeling and UV layout done with Cinema 4D. Figure setup done with Poser - I've used the DAZ stuff I've purchased. Texturing of the room done with Vue (room model imported as OBJ). Marlin Sci-Fi textures and procedural Vue materials used to create all the effects you've seen on the room. Lots of light to create the ambience - rendered with Global Radiosity. Also cookies used on the key light to create a rich feeling. I hope you enjoy. <a href="http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=43&t=780800">You can see w.i.p thread here</a>

Shadow To Light

Took 4 hours to create the scene. Render took 20 hours. The PC I'm using crashed two times during rendering. Not because of the weight of the scene but because of a hardware failure. I was listening to Amethystium & Enya when I was working on it. So their music inspired me to bring shadow (lycan) and light (unicorn) together. I transferred the files to my design machine again and resuming the rendering on this image in my design machine, I detached every single part of the render machine - cleaned up everything and replaced the power supply and reassembled it. I'm very tired of being my own technical service. Looking forward to have workstations with guaranty.

Workflow: I've set up and posed the figures with using Poser 7. Exported them with both content exporter plug-in and OBJ export (to have textures separately). I imported objects to Vue and retextured them with custom bump values and options. Created the environment around them with Vue and after finishing scene set up I started to work on the lighting.

Lighting I came up with over 10 different lighting variations. I used key, fill, kicker and more fill. Tried tons of colors and shadow attributes. Tried night, dawn, dusk and evening. I decided to use two fill lights (one blue / one orange) and radiosity together with a strong key (sun light).

Post Work When I took the final render result to Photoshop I started to listen to Enya. The "colors" on her soundscape "paintings "were always inspired me. So I decided to colorize the image instead of using a nearly untouched render version. I wanted to reflect the feelings that her music created on me. Something like fairy tale-ish.

Well, I think that's all. I hope you guys enjoy it - let me know what you think about it and thanks again.

Training myself to keep my abilities up to date on graphic design besides 3D. So this is just a personal work to answer my own "how to" questions about movie poster design. I wanted to some dirt, some dust and some feelings of being on the road.

Perhaps I'm the biggest fan of the actual movie The Vanishing Point starring Barry Newman filmed in 1971. That white Dodge Challenger and Kowalski character were my childhood heroes. I was in the elemental school when I watched the movie. For the guys who don't know that great movie - here is some info on IMDB - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067927/
After finishing all the lessons I decided to keep working on texturing and shading on both Maya and Vue. I laid out UVs of some objects and some others are shaded with proceduals and also some of them have mixed both bitmap and procedural materials. All textures are prepared by me with editing 3D Total Textures on Photoshop. It was very exciting from start to end and also sometimes anooying but mostly fun to work on it. Especially UVs are real pain in the ass On postworking with Photoshop I made 3 different versions because I couldn't decide which one is cool but my personal favorite is the sephia one. Temple scene modeled & rendered for David Arkenstone's Temple Of Isis video. Mix of polygonal and Nurbs modeling. Textures prepared by me. There was a lot of work to do in short time and it have to be rendered on 4500 pixels - that's why it was impossible render it on Mental Ray because scene was too heavy for my computers. I got a lot of "Not Enough Memory" messages. For solving this I started to add lights - a lot of fill lights with highest decay rate and some key lights also orange bright lights for torches. Flames of torches painted with Paint FX. For a long time I wanted to work on a night scene - my very first attempt was Temple Of Vaal - and when David asked for a temple in the night I thought it's a great opportunity to try my best on it.
Based on the reference photos took from the construction site. Entire modeling were done with Maya. After finished modeling I combined similar meshes and imported objects to Vue for texturing, lighting and environment. It was a long & hard work - also renders took over 30 hours on 4500 pixel wide at 16:9 Format. Postwork and corrections were done in Photoshop.

I always wanted to work on a project like that - they didn't like the result but I was actually happy with it and honestly I couldn't understand what did they wanted more. First they said that they want my "painting" look more than Vray-ish realism and then they said they "didn't liked the trees"

Environment and render done in Vue because of the vast area they wanted. I used a lot of custom made ecosystems. I never able to render that kind of scene without Mesh Combine command of Maya and flexibility of Vue.

That was my first serious and professional architectural visualization project.

This is my recent work created with the inspiration of Moya Brennan's beautiful song named Peacemaker. I dedicated this image's print for a friend as a birthday gift. Entire 3D scene created and rendered with Poser and Vue. Additional texturing and matte painting done in Photoshop. I hope you enjoy - comments & critics are welcome as always...

Hello friends. This work of mine finished approximately in 40 hours - 24 hours of it is final render on Vue. After creation of the landscape - I started to work on the final render result of the scene with Photoshop. Planets, clouds painted on it - also I've done some colors corrections and filters to create the mood. I hope you enjoy, comment & critics are welcome as always

During an animation project with my favorite musician David Arkenstone, I created a concept for opening animation of the video of Song Of Sheherazade - a palace. But we decided to use another concept - which was also designed by me. And I decided to finalize this one and post here to share with you. Inspiration of the piece is coming from the music of David Arkenstone and a last minute inspiration from the new album of Loreena McKennitt. Thanks for looking and reading, comments & ciritics are welcome as always.
